The new law on persons and family (LAW Nº32/2016 OF 28/08/2016 GOVERNING
PERSONS AND FAMILY) has simplified the process. First you have to go to the sector where you were born (domicile) and check if you are registered in the birth registry. if you are not registered you will ask to be registered. Once registered you will then ask for the birth certificate.
