Climate change Impact/ Coffee production / Supply chains of Rwandan Coffee.
Dear National Agricultural Export Development Board,
I would like to ask for the following information under Law no 04/2013 of 08/02/2013 relating to access to information.
1. Has climate change 10-20 years history negatively affected coffee production? If not yet, what are the measures in place to avoid climate change impact since it is an issue observed in East Africa?
2. How much coffee has been exported so far this year, in 2018, and 2017? The benefit was valued at how much?
3. What happens to crops after they are harvested - what determines if they reach a commodity or a specialty market?
4. Which foreign companies buy Rwandan coffee.
5. How are farmers paid for the crop? At what rate?
6. What measures are in place to ensure that Rwandan coffee is labeled and sold as Rwandan?
Yours faithfully, Noella N.bihogo
